Home > Complete List of All Hotels by Area

It is a smaller town than any of us ever imagine it to be. Since you can ride from one end to the other in 20-25 minutes on the metro, there is really nowhere to stay within the city that can be called inconvenient. On the other hand, it may be small but you’ll still want to find a place whose particular atmosphere is one you will enjoy. On your first trip, you might choose one of the major areas like the Opera or the Arc de Triomphe, but on your second visit maybe changing to an area where you can experience Paris on a slightly deeper level would be better. You will then come to see a different face of Paris. Because the sense of security that concerns many American is basically not a problem in any of the areas we will introduce you to here, you can choose a hotel with complete peace of mind. For that reason, you will find on this page the characteristics of areas you do not know very well laid out one by one. Just click below to open up the list of hotels in that district.

レピュブリック   トロカデロ、パッシー

Republique, to the north of Marais and Bastille, is an area that combines a working class atmosphere with fashionable boutiques. Republique Plaza itself may feel noisy and crowded with people, but very nearby there is the Saint-Martin Canal where you can take your family to see the beautiful scenery of old Paris spread out before you. Around the Oberkampf and Northern Marais districts you will find lots of high-end, but not snooty, cafes and shops. And it is a place where many artists have chosen to live in after being attracted by a feeling of freedom not found in Opera or the Champs Elysees. Not to mention that for such a convenient place, there are a lot of reasonable hotels!

On the side of the Seine River and facing the Eiffel Tower, sits the Palais de Chaillot inside Trocadero Plaza, with its amazing view of the Tower, and just a little to the south is Passy. Could this area be Paris's version of Den-en-chōfu? This exclusive residential district in the 16th ward is close to the Champs Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe, and many different nations’ embassies, making it a quiet environment. It is a chic neighborhood with boutiques, restaurants, cafes, and the long-standing department store, Franck et Fils. We recommend both areas to those who wish to experience living as an elegant Parisian.

エッフェル塔 マレ、バスティーユ

Found at the base of the Eiffel Tower, this is the well-known 7th ward, another exclusive residential area. This district is a very comfortable place where the lawns in the Champ de Mars spread out, and where the Pont des Invalides contributes to the feeling of spaciousness, but shops and restaurants flourish as well. You can easily use the beautiful Pont Alexandre III, Pont de l'Alma and Pont d'Iéna bridges to cross the Seine towards the Right Bank from this convenient area.

From the Saint-Paul Station on the metro, Place des Vosges spreads out into Marais with its Jewish area (were you can buy delicious falafel) and many upscale boutiques. The narrow, complicated streets make this the best place to stay in order to experience Paris’s long history. Right beside Marais is Bastille, of which the Opera Bastille is the symbol. One of the big charms here is the environment created by the blend of a working class atmosphere and an artistic atmosphere, since young creators have been moving into what was once a neighborhood of furniture craftsmen.

カルチエ・ラタン サンジェルマン・デプレ

The Latin Quarter is famous for being a college town where the buildings of Paris's universities, which all began with the Sorbonne, stretch out before you. The symbol of this area is, of course, the building dedicated to the great men of France, the Pantheon. Since this is a college area, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes and it is always busy. Yet it is also the oldest part of Paris, with remnants of history from the Roman period still left, so if you head down some of the small paths and alleys you’ll see aspects of the Middle-Ages that still exist. In addition, it is close to Luxembourg Park, Saint-Germain, and Saint-Louis Island.

Once upon a time, philosophers gathered here in cafes like Deux Magots and Flore to have lengthy discussions. Saint-Germain-des-Pres is filled with high-end boutiques and famous patisseries, and is close to the Latin Quarter, Montparnasse, and Ile de la Cité. It is a very popular area with travelers who are fond of the Left Bank.

凱旋門、シャンゼリゼ オペラ、マドレーヌ

If you were to name symbols of Paris, you would probably come up with the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysees pretty quickly. If you stay in this area, every morning you can look towards the Arc de Triomphe and feel the excitement of being in Paris flood over you again and again. Louis Vuitton is just the first of many high-class boutiques running into one another on the Champs Elysees and Rue Montaigne.

Opera and Madeleine are the friendliest areas to visit. Near the Opera Garnier is the department stores like Galeries Lafayette and Printemps. This is more of a business district, so while it may not suit those who wish to see Parisians in their everyday life, it is a really convenient area for anyone who is here only for a short stay and wants to focus on sightseeing and shopping.
